Spotlight on 1concepts: Fulfilling our work culture promises while merchandising incentives

Introducing 1concepts

1concepts are the European experts for premium merchandise, fulfilment, and after-sales service. We offer over 6000 SKUs across 300 premium brands to boost employee and customer loyalty, incentive, reward, and engagement programmes in over 32 countries.

Our language-localised catalogues offer consumer electronics, sporting goods, fashion accessories and high-end perfumes, to name a few. We dispatch the orders same or next day from our fulfilment centres in central Europe.

Ultimately, we’re a tech company with the latest interfaces for instant data exchange. It’s about more than our breadth of premium merchandise – it’s about creating a smooth, automatic journey and a fast fulfilment.

We see our client relationships as partnerships. You bring the programme framework, and we’ll bring the premium merchandise, automatic IT-processes, fast shipping, and friendly participant services. We find that this creates the best experience for the end user.

Our dedicated customer service department provides personalised support for every campaign and partnership. We deal directly with your end users to deliver after sales care for every product shipped.

Our Culture

Our people and the culture we’ve created is what makes our product great. We have a bottom-up approach where everyone is treated equally and has a voice. Authenticity is our most important value.

We thrive on an atmosphere where people are encouraged to develop personally and feel proud to contribute to success. There’s no such thing as a silly question and every day is an opportunity to learn.

We understand that good talent will leave if not looked after. Therefore, we prioritise work/life balance and put an emphasis on the importance of family. Part-time options, hybrid working, ‘workcations’, and zero mandatory office days allow our colleagues to work in a way that best suits them.

Our 21 members of staff like what they do, and we make sure to offer good training and development opportunities with open career paths. Clearly defined objectives keep us laser-focused on our collective end goals. When the business does well financially, we share this success with the whole team.

Colleagues are motivated to earn personal rewards for a wide range of activities such as winning new customers, supporting partners with difficult situations, and meeting partner goals.

We recognise that the world of business isn’t always plain sailing, so we pride ourselves on having a strong backbone. We admit our mistakes, give options and resolve, without holding anger at one another if things go wrong.

It isn’t all work and no play, though. We make a point of having fun as a group. The office is a happy place to be, where we regularly welcome our four-legged friends. After work we go out for drinks, play golf, and cook together. We celebrate successes whenever we can.

Our Values

To create this respected, enjoyable culture, we have defined a number of company values to which we hold ourselves to on a daily basis. This approach has provided us with a good reputation and we’re actively recruiting to meet our growth targets. We listen to feedback shared and we never judge, which leads to continuous improvement and process optimisation.

  • We’re a family-first organisation – if you need to take your kids to school or care for a sick relative, that’s completely fine with us.
  • We don’t search for fame or recognition – we’re not doing high-quality work for the credit; we’re doing it because we truly believe it’s the level of service our partners deserve.
  • We’re authentic – what someone sees on day 1 is what they’ll see on day 100.
  • We’re clear in what we offer and what we don’t – We never over-promise or under-deliver.
  • We learn from mistakes in an open-minded way – no grudges held here!

We work to live – we don’t expect our colleagues to work around the clock from a rigid office environment.

Why Does This Matter?

Purely and simply, it matters because it’s only with the best team that we can expect to provide the best product to our partners. A good culture is not a nice to have, it’s a necessity for business performance.

This formula has worked for us since our inception in 2015, and now that other businesses are catching on to this gold standard, the competition for great talent is admittedly getting stronger.

Our advice to others when it comes to culture and business is to avoid becoming complacent. Stay above the wave, and constantly review how things are going.

To build trust, only ever look at the end result – not how it’s achieved. Treat adults as adults and be open to the flexibility they need.

As a business we’re always looking to grow. We’re excited to welcome new recruits throughout the year, as these additional team members will propel our output to new levels.
